Chaos theory tells us that the fluttering of a butterfly in Brazil could start a storm in Texas. If that were the case then what would happen if more than 7 billion butterflies flew?

What effect does the presence of 7 billion people have on Earth?

Human activity often adversely affects the various natural systems that make up life on Earth (climate, ecosystems, biodiversity). This effect is immediately noticeable by observing the effects on both the natural environment and our own body.

The new film (co-produced by the Eugenides Foundation and the company Animonautes) screened at the Planetarium of NOISIS entitled “The Earth and I”, presents in a simple way complex issues and scientific data that help each of us to reflect on his actions and their impact on the environment and life on the planet.

The structure of the film develops around the themes: greenhouse effect, climate change and natural disasters, energy consumption and production, renewable energy sources, recycling, deforestation, transport, food production and transport, biodiversity, desertification and pollution of the modern way of life in the human body.

The film is directly related to the Environmental Education course, is of Greek production and has a duration of 25΄.
