Full moon at NOESIS 31.8.2023

From 19.00 with free entrance

NOESIS “welcomes” the moon and organizes an event with free entrance for the whole family.

On the occasion of the “Blue” full moon, a unique evening will take place at NOESIS facilities, overlooking the Thermaikos Gulf, where young and old will have the opportunity to get to know better, not only the impressive celestial phenomenon, but much more about the Moon.

As part of the event, from 19.00, two free screenings of the film “The Wonders of the Universe” will take place at the Planetarium, a hall with a capacity of 150 people. Entrance will be with priority vouchers available from the box office on that day from 18.00 and allowed to people from 5 years old.

This will be followed by a speech on “The Moon: the eternal companion of the Earth”, by Kleomenis Tsiganis, Professor, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

In addition, there will be a live demonstration of the operation of the automated Stargazing Station of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at NOESIS, by the members of the astrodynamics team of the university.

After 21.30, stargazing with telescopes of the Society of Friends of Astronomy will follow.

The evening will be accompanied by musicians Yiannis Poimenidis (violin) and Yiannis Mitsas (guitar), in collaboration with the Deputy Mayor of Culture of Thermi (DEPPA).

The event is part of the “Thermis Events 2023”.

Free entrance.

NOESIS on that day operates normally from 12.00, according to the schedule you can see here and tickets are valid.
The last screening at the Planetarium, at 19.05, will not take place due to the event.
