Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between NOESIS and AUTh
The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and NOESIS on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Nikolaos G. Papaioannou, and the Chairman of the Board. of NOESIS, Michael Sigalas.
The signing of the Memorandum took place in the Senate Hall of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the presence of the Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Andreas Giannakoudakis, and the General Director of NOESIS, Thanassis Kontonikolaou.
The aim of the cooperation of the two institutions is, among others, the internship of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students of AUTh in the premises of NOESIS, the cooperation in research, dissemination and communication of science and technology developments, the production of teachers programs aimed at research, scientific documentation, and communication of science in cultural structures and the general public, as well as the organization of events, conferences and actions related to innovative technologies, digital applications, start up companies, etc.
NOESIS is also expected to participate in the activities of the ESERO (European Space Education Resource Office) of the European Space Agency (ESA-European Space Agency) in Greece, with the aim of highlighting the importance of space in modern society and economy.
On the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation, the Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Professor Nikolaos G. Papaioannou, said “We strengthen the cooperation between the two institutions which has existed and is excellent for several years. Besides, the ties between the two bodies are strong, as repeatedly distinguished academics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki have been Presidents and members of the Board of Directors of NOESIS “and stressed that” our cooperation with NOESIS shows, once again, the extroversion of AUTh ” .
The Chairman of the Board of NOESIS, Professor of AUTh Michael Sigalas, stated “Today we seal a cooperation of many years, between AUTh and NOESIS. These are two bodies that have, among others, a common orientation in the scientific literacy of the citizens and especially of the youth. Personally, I am very happy because as a member of the academic community of AUTh I represent both bodies with a view to the future “.
