Noises – report by Emeritus Prof. Nikos Tsinikas with kinetic sound sculptures – Opening 7.12.2024
Opening Saturday 7.12.2024, at 17.00
Sound, music, kinetic sculpture
A special exhibition of kinetic sculptures that produce sounds will be hosted by NOESIS. It is the exhibition “Noise” by Professor Emeritus of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, architect, Mr. Nikos Tsinikas, which has already impressed the public at the MOMus-Museum of Contemporary Art of Thessaloniki, where it was recently hosted. The exhibition consists of 8 sound-kinetic sculptures and a large screen with a 6-minute video, where the sounds from each sound object are heard.
Mr. Nikos Tsinikas created the sculptures by “marrying” science with his arts and knowledge in design, engineering and acoustics of spaces with his love for music. In fact, the audience will be able to touch the complex and original works and hear sound effects, as Mr. Tsinikas’ special sculptures also produce sounds. The exhibits will be developed in the temporary exhibition hall, next to the Museum of Technology and will remain at NOESIS until February 23, 2025.
